This patch is included in Natetrue’s 1.1.3 Soft-Upgrade, Dev Team’s Jailbreak 1.1.3, as well as Zibri’s ZiPhone, they all use the same patched lockdownd.

Is this patch always applied during the DevTeam upgrade (1.1.3-3)? Or maybe only if hacktivation is selected?
I have AT&T, so I said no to hacktivation, and my phone has always worked with an unpatched lockdownd. I’m just curious if I’m using a patched lockdownd now that I have jailbroken, or if it even matters. I might just go replace it with the stock one to be sure, as I have never needed a lockdownd patch for service before.
Well, I forgot to select on “yes” for Hacktivation during the DevTeam upgrade (1.1.3-2)?
Is this the Lockdown I would need?
And how would I go about installing it? I use only macs…
copy the patched lockdownd to /usr/libexec on iphone, make sure it has 755 or 555 permission.
Can you point me in the right direction as far as a tutorial?
And I have no clue about 755 or 555 permissions?
Sorry about so many dumb questions, I’m really lost…
You gotta learn how to use SSH or Term-vt100, after uploading the patched lockdownd, enter the following command on iphone (through SSH or Term-vt100) to set permission:
How do I upload the patch using my mac?
Use scp, google ’scp manual’. there’re other easier methods, try googling for them.
Thank you so much George, I used the terminal in OSX… now it’s all good!
Tried and Tested! I said no to hacktivation, stuck at screen for quite some time before i discover this blog, replaced the original lockdownd with the patched one and it works like magic! Thanks!

Hi,
I have just recived my 16 Gb iphone, and have followed this: http://guides.macrumors.com/Jailbreaking_and_updating_to_1.1.3
And the jailbreak works fine. But I can not get a signal. It askes me for a pin code for me gsm card. I put in and nothing happens :-(
I have installed the: Lockdownd Patched
And the permissions on the Iphone is:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 1107780 Feb 7 17:02 lockdownd
Im from denmark, so I have a danish carrier, should that be a problem?
Regards and hope for answer, because right now I just have “fat touch” :-(
Marc
Dear George,
Thank you so much!! Your clear explainations really saved me (in the end, the most difficult part was to find my ip address and the password).
Cheers,
Grégoire
Has this been tried & tested with an O2 non-iPhone plan contract sim to get everything working without an unlock.
Thanks
Rylok
Nope, I’m not an O2 user.
When will someone come out with a patch that will ACTUALLY allow same carrier sims to be used on the 4.03.13G baseband?
I have used ziphone 2.4 and jailbroken and activated but I can’t use an O2 non-phone sim in the phone.
Hey George, I’ve jailbroken my iphone but after it did it, it says that I’m using 5 GB of the memory of my 7.3GB iphone, eventhough the upgrading/jailbreaking erased all my songs.. so I have no idea of what is ocupying all the memory. Moreover, when I plug it to the Itunes to check memory status, it wont show what is using all the memory, it just says Photos 6.3 MB, Other: 4.7 GB, Free Space: 2.5GB. If you can help me on this I will appreciate it…
Thanks!
George,
My iPhone is a heavy iPod now. :-( Since there is no WIFI function anymore, how can I Use SSH or Term- VT100 to access my iPhone? Please advice. Thx.
Regards,
Peter

and wish to assit as far as possible.

How many versions of 1.1.4 patched lockdown files are currently used to by pass the activation.
Are there any lockdown files that allow to use ATT non-iphone plan SIM?
Or is there a way to use the ATT non-iphone plan SIM in 1.1.4?
Thanks for the good work you have done.
Jeremy
@Jeremy, for 1.1.4 lockdownd patch, the one on this blog is the *first* available version and it works, I don’t know if other people have any other versions though as I only use the one on this blog. For your AT&T plan question, I suppose you’re confused by the concepts, lockdownd will not make you call, it only make you use the “non-phone” part. So if you’re looking for a lockdownd that can magically “unlock” your baseband, I’m afraid it’s a dead end :) As for the way to use AT&T non-iphone plan SIM, I’m not living in the states so I can’t tell, but if the phone is unlocked, I don’t see why an unlocked phone can’t call with an AT&T SIM.
Thank you for your quick response. I installed 1.0.2 and 1.1.1 firmware before (only jailbroken and activated). I never had to use any software to unlock my iphone in order to use an ATT SIM card with non-iphone plan. I try to avoid to unlock my iphone because I have seen many people having problems after performing an unlock. I’ve installed the 1.1.4 firmware, with jailbroken and activated, but this time I can’t make a call. I saw somewhere on your blog (1.1.2) said that you just loaded the patched lockdown file and the phone was activated and you could make a call with your silvercard. I wondered if you know or have tested any lockdown file that allow apple authorized carriers without an iphone plan to use the phone function. Apple may have changed the baseband to restrict the access.
@Jeremy, Apple does have changed the baseband, from 1.1.3 SilverCard no longer works.
