Version 1.3.0
NOTICE:: For the permission issue introduced in old Installer payload, I’ve just made a payload to fix it. Please Refresh payload list, then download and apply payload Fix Mobile Folder Permission. UPDATE: This payload has updated to recursively change /var/mobile and its subdirectories owners to mobile.
Script/Pack URL parsing bug
Description: There’s a bug in Script/Pack URL parsing routine, the routine expects to see a “http://”-alike URL so it searches for the last “/” character, if not found, the routine returns NULL. So if you put a simple filename (e.g. mypayload.sh, mypayload.zip) in the script, it’ll not be recognized and your payload will not be listed in the Available listing.
Workaround: Put a “/” character in front of your filename in Script and Pack, so that it looks like /mypayload.sh and /mypayload.zip .
Custom ramdisk boot bug
Description: There’s a bug in custom ramdisk boot function, if you uncheck the Prepend Data and supply a ramdisk without kernelcache prepended, it will not boot. This will not affect the normal use because iLiberty+ alwasy prepends the correct data.
Workaround: Don’t prepend your custom ramdisk, let iLiberty+ do it for you.
International support payload filename typo
This bug is submitted by Eric
Description: There’s a typo in payload script filename 20International114.sh (was missing a ‘L’) which caused iLiberty+ unable to download script correctly.
Workaround: This typo has been fixed. Please press Refresh button to load in the new plist.

besides the weather app issue and sound settings bugs found on iLiberty+ , I and a few other users on the ipluspwns forum have noticed that our Contacts also get affected. Even if we choose the first,last option it still displays as Last,First
I believe it’s caused by the same ownership bug. Basically, if an application needs to save some data into Preferences folder, it’ll fail due to this bug. The above fix will solve it, and it has no side effect even when applied on a “correct” phone.

I think there is a bug in the GUI of iLiberty. When you select the UNLOCK feature without checking the Downgrade option, You can see in the Advanced Tub that unlocked was indeed selected but in the description it says “this payload requires bootloader 3.9, for bootloader 4.6 it will downgrade the bootloader first” which means it downgrades even though I havent checked the downgrade option…
And because i dont want to downgrade, but to use 4.6 and the older BB, i cant use the software… any suggestions?

@Sniz, the script should not downgrade automatically, the description was wrong (forgot to update). If you are aware of this, please open the 02AnySIM_Unlock_BL39.sh and check if there’re the following lines:
If they’re there, the script will not downgrade BL automatically.

@Sniz, you’re right, 1.1.4 + 04.04.05 + 3.9FB is yr expected result. The MAC address thing is not caused by iL+ unlock.

A bit off topic but can you point me in the right direction for where the iphone stores it’s settings for the power management of the Wifi radio? I want to disable low power mode for my wifi.
This bug drinks alot of my blood yesterday… About a 50 retyping VPN settings when i attempt to fix another one iPhone bug - is really crappy fan =\ But, any way, thanks for great job you’ve made. Unlocking process wasn’t so simple and safe never before! Good luck!
Download 88Installer Fix and extract into payload folder (replace old script).
I have no idea how to do the above workaround. Please help. I’m having problem saving certain settings such as weather city.

@Manuel, do you know how to unzip a file ? The fix is a zip file and you need to extract/expand/decompress (whatever you call it) its contents into the payload folder (under your iLiberty+ installation folder).

Noticed that the IPSF script did not work and i needed to install the Signal.app script after jailbreak/activation.
Also BSD/VT100/OpenSSH is not showing up under uninstall in the installer if i select jailbreak/activation/youtube fix/bsd/vt100/openssh. But not the unlock (because of the (G)IPSF )

@ArB, IPSF script works fine for me. The “apps installed not recognized by Installer” issue is an old issue, it’ll hopefully be fixed in the next update which is coming soon.

One question, I just nought a iPhone with 1.1.4. I am going to use iLiberty+ to unlock/activate/jailbreak it..
My question is do i need to select downgrade bootloader and continue(and upgrade the bootloader again later).??

I can unlock/activate /jailbreak with the latest bootloader itself.??
@koushik, if you don’t downgrade bootloader, you can still unlock but baseband will become 04.02.13 after unlock. If you wanna use 04.04.05, then you have to downgrade BL to 3.9FB.
So here is your choice:
1. No BL downgrade, baseband is 04.02.13 after unlock (upgradable with iTunes but will be locked again)
2. BL downgrade to 3.9FB (upgradable later), baseband is 04.04.05 after unlock.

I am pretty sure the iLiberty install folder they are referring to is on your pc/mac not on your phone.
My question is do I have to redo all of the iLiberty functions after replacing this file or is it just select that payload or? I am such a moron…
@edaw33, when you run iLiberty+ setup executable, you selected a folder before its installation right? Normally its something like C:\Program Files\iLiberty.
@David, you just need to re-do the Installer, (check only Installer and ‘Go for it’).
George, the pwn that just came out has a function to upgrade to 4.6BL. Have you tried it? I used ziphone before I got to know iplus then ilberty so I am stucked with 3.9BL, I am thinking if I need to bring the phone to aTT later on for repair, I might have problem.

there’s a problem. I’ve unpacked the new fix into the payload folder(overwritten the old one). But now when I check Unlock it gives me an internal error. I’ve no more information about it. The fix for preferences worked well, but this seems to be problem. Thx for solution. Wish u luck Mon4rch
@mon4rch, sorry it’s my bad, I mixed the file format with the up coming new iLiberty+ version (the new payload will be managed by plist so it’s not compatible with current version). Anyway I’ve updated the fix, it’s now in the correct format.

@Michael, yes it is possible and easy to do. But since new version will definitely fix this bug and the current workaround is very simple (just one line command), I’ll not bother writing a fix for use on Installer.

@Andrey, with this fix, you can unlock with or without downgrading BL, its up to you.
hey george, i think u’ve got a typo error regarding the International Support for 1.1.4 sh file. Check it out. Its missing a “l” at the end of international. =)

I have problem saving settings for some apps.
This concerns Touchpad Pro 3.0 and Navizon.
In the Touchpad Pro case when setting up an new server nothing is saved. Under the server names in the start page nothing is saved.
In navizon no user name or password is saved from one session to the other.
Any ideas?

At first it worked, then after a second restore in iTunes and unlock/jailbreak/activation with iLiberty+ it was this way.

I’m new to iLiberty+. I’ve updated the 1.3.0 patch. Then what should I do next? Do I unlock my iPhone again? Are there special steps to it? Coz I did try to unlock my phone again, but the “ownership” bug still exist.. I’ve tried changing the sounds setting (keyboard clicks to OFF), but the setting is not saved.

@Kevin, you don’t need to unlock again. You may re-install Installer to fix that bug if you don’t wanna do it manually.
UPDATE: You don’t need to re-install Installer. I’ve made a payload to fix it, refresh your payload list, then download and apply the payload Preferences folder permission fix, you need the latest 1.3.0 to use the fix.

As I am new to iLiberty+, I would like to understand the steps in applying the updated payload from the iLiberty+ v1.3.0 patch into my iPhone.
The reason I am asking is b’coz I’ve tried to “re-unlock” the phone using the v1.3.0 patch, it doesn’t seem to have fixed the “ownership” bug. The sounds settings changes were still not saved after I have changed the Keyboard Clicks to OFF.

Yestoday night, I used iLiberty+ 1.2(the vision before latest 1.3) to jailbrake, activate and unlock my iphone many times, there is a big problem that some setting can’t be saved, so the changes i maked can’t become effective, such as settings–phone–contacts. I don’t know whether the latest version 1.3 has this bug or not.

@Kevin, click Advanced, then click Selected (at the bottom), uncheck all options there, then click Refresh, then click Available on Repo, look for “Preferences permission fix” and check it, then click Download, it will be downloaded to Local tab, click Local and check it, then click Go for it.
After installing 1.3.0.113 and sellecting everything under the standard menu, my email and utube dont work. My mail is saying ‘user name or password for “imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com” is incorrect.’ and utube is “cannot connect to youtube”. Please advise.

@nomaS, you must quit iLiberty+ so that update can patch the executable.
@Howard, did you use previous version (1.2.1) ? if so, try to apply that “Preferences folder permission fix”.

Hello, my Youtube doesn’t work, my summerboard doesn’t save the theme when I change it, and my Yahoo doesn’t work either. I unlock with the iLiberty 1.2 I think, and I just update to 1.3 and install the preference permission but it’s still doesn’t work.

there’s a tab uninstallt, but i can’t uninstall cydia via this point. that’s what i meant :-)
There is another bug in saving preferences. In the iPod menu. The menu doesnt save any changes you make to the shortcut icons on the bottom of the iPod menu. e.g. You can change if you want to group your songs by playlist or change it to group it by albums. iPhone doesnt save this.

I tried the new version yesterday and i did quite a number of restore / jailbreak actions.
I still see the problem of BSD + VT100 +openSSH not showing up in the installer.
I even tried to only jailbreak + activate + unlock + installer in the first run and then tried in a separate run the installation of BSD + VT100 + openSSH en also no result. (it is installed but not showing up)
The unlock for 1.0.2 doesnt work either.

After that I went ahead and upgraded by bootloder from 3.9fake to 4.6, but now its not detecting my t-mobile carrier.

After reading so much about iLiberty+(windows), I tried it, but unfortunately the “Go for it!” button is always disabled, I suppose it did not detect my phone, I tried with 1.2.0.65, 1.2.1.78 and 1.3 but sadly no use. any idea. my current phone is ziphone “do it all” 1.1.4 (after failed attempt with iL+, I used ziphone 2.5c, even ziphone 3.0 did not detect my phone)! then upgraded the BL from 3.9 to 4.6 using BootNeuter! Any idea on this, why iL+ failed to detect phone. itunes(7.6.2 as well as 7.4.2) detects perfectly.

I’m trying to downgrade the bootloader from 4.6 to 3.9FB and in the black screen on the iPhone it says failed/aborting in 10 seconds when it gets to bootloader because i have 3.9something but i had just restored on itunes. Also, my yahoo email isn’t working either, and it did before.

I think its because I used ZiPhone before. I thought with a restore I could get 4.6 back. But i was wrong correct? I think i got the Yahoo mail to work though.

@koushik, I would love to answer any of your questions if you can Google for some basic knowledge before asking (especially when you wanna try some dangerous operations like bootloader upgrade/downgrade) because your major prob doesnt really belong to iLiberty+.
@Mendi, the manual fix is “chown -R mobile:mobile /var/mobile”, if it doesnt help, you’re not having permission issue, you’re having other problems which I doubt are caused by iLiberty+.

@Santhosh, I have to say you got me as I never had such a weird problem, if iTunes can detect it, iLiberty+ should be able to detect it as well, so sorry I have no idea.

@Nasp30, we don’t have a payload to uninstall Cydia yet. If you prefer Installer, do a restore, then go to Advanced and select Installer (press that Refresh button for at least once).

Am I correct to say, If my have a virgin iphone, and running Liberty for the very first time, I can just pick Installer v1.2 and ignore applying the payload Preferences folder permission fix?
Is it safe to install both Cydia v1.2 & Installer v1.2 in the same fone?

@Gordon, 10060 means Connection timed out, your internet link has problem. Try accessing the repo with your browser, can you access it ?

My phone was now 1.1.4 iL+ “go for it!” successful output (after issues with bsd root). My trouble now is with wifi, even though I cannot call it bcas of iL+. My phone wifi is perfect with 1.1.2, but in 1.1.3 & 1.1.4 too it works but differently, it gets connected in general settings then when I press “home” wifi disappears, in application the wifi selection box comes, it works till I close the app, moment I exit thro home button it disappears, any idea??? because every time it disappears i have to switch toggle wifi or airplane mode. otherwise wifi selector will not appear in any application.

Ok guys, after researching, I’m giving up, so i decided to post here: how do i suppose to fix “cannot connect to youtube” problem???? This is seriously very annoying!!!!!!!!!!
I had before iLiberty+ v 1.2 and that had problems with saving settings. Version 1.3 fixed that - every thing is working fine now, except YOUTUBE.
I don’t know how to use vt-100 terminal, but this is what i did: opened the app, entered alpine for password, and then it showed root#, where i typed chown _R…..mobile string you wrote above, and hit return. it gave me another root#. I then just exited. Youtube is still no go! I have Ipod Touch 32GB.
I’m waiting for WinPWN otherwise, which i don’t think will ever come out. (cause that guy “cmw” is full of empty promises, and never keeps his word on release - i hate that guy) Maybe that will fix it, but i really don’t know. I really NEED HELP!!!
Hi George. I have a big problem with my iphone. I used the iLiberty to jailbreak and unlock my new iphone bouhgt in US. Everything is good. But after I tried to use ssh, The phone just keep booting again and again. I can’t use the iLiberty again cause it can’t be detected by itunes. So many question is if there is a way to put the phone into recovery mode without itunes??? Or if there is some file in the file system in cotrol of the itunes detection cause I can still access the file system using ssh. I am looking foward to hearing from you soon!

So i tried google and many mentioned that the new iLiberty+ had some problems with summerboard and that the older version of Liberty worked fine..

Nevermind, I actually fixed the youtube problem. It was just this stupid “youtube fix” payload. Instead of fixing youtube, it destroys it. The solution was to jailbrake again without installing the “youtube fix.”

Now, i know this is iLiberty+ forum, and my device right now works great, but I was still thinking of trying WINPWN so i can make a custom boot image to show my friends.
I just want to let you know that today this asshole, “cmw” who has been treating everyone like a BITCH at ipodtouchfans.com, has finally showed his true colors!!! Not only he has been a BIG FAT LIE, but he also hasn’t been working much lately on this “winpwn” project. In fact he said on the irc that he is only just entering the beta testing stage, and winpwn has a lot of bugs. While the iPwner works, the IPSW builder doesn’t (very glitchy)! So you can’t even build custom firmware with it properly! And forget about custom packages and custom boot options. So, CMW is all just talk!!! This is the last time i ever trusted him and his dev team after he got everyone excited at first today about his stupid winpwn release (which never happened for the 10th time)!!!!!! Very disappointing!
Overall, i just want to say that iLiberty+ is here to stay, since Pwnage Tool for windows will never see its day!
Also, George, what does this mean regarding to v1.3 of iLiberty+: Fixed: BSD/Cydia now recognized by Installer??? Cause when i install something like “Tris” in installer, it shows up as the colored icon in Cydia, but still lets me to install it again. Is this normal?
The Touch is my first iPod and in fact my first taste of any Apple products. After some research, decided to jailbreak with iLiberty+. Awesome… works as advertised and wanted to thank the author (and all testers) for this fine programming effort.
A question for anyone who cares to answer. When I “went for it”, I also installed Cydia. Now I’d like to install Summerboard but can’t find it in the built-in Cydia sources. Ready to use +iLiberty to transfer the Installer package, but I noticed that jailbreak selection can’t be turned off.
If I go ahead anyway, will I be jailbreaking a second time and if so is that a problem?

No it wont be a problem, you can go ahead and transfer installer package..

@Den, it’s normal, Cydia payload cheats Installer with a fake BSD plist so that Installer thought BSD is installed, this is needed because some applications (e.g. OpenSSH) require BSD to be installed. But Cydia and Installer don’t use the same database to manage application installation, in other words, Cydia doesn’t know what Installer installs and vice versa.
@crazyquay, multiple jailbreaks dont have any side effects (although from the efficiency point of view, it’s better to skip it when device has already jailbroken).

I decided not to wait & install OSX via Leo4All v2 in my spare Intel PC, and PwnageTool v1.1 run without any problem. Pwned it & use Liberity+ for the extra playloads.

Sorry if these questions appears trivial to you, but however I’ve done my research but am not able to get the answers from anywhere.
I wanted to ask you:
1. If I do not choose Cydia payload to apply to my iPhone device, can I just choose BSD SS + Installer V1.2 in its replacement instead? Or do you recommend Cydia over the two payloads?
2. I manually downloaded the payloads (.zip and .sh file) to the payload folder under iLiberty install folder, however when I restart iLiberty - the files are gone (removed)!! Weird. Any idea why or if I’m doing this correctly.
Appreciate your advice and help in advance.

@Hong, Cydia is a replacement for BSD and Installer, if you don’t like it, you can of course uncheck it and install the old BSD and Installer (you have to do this in Advanced tab though). The downloaded payloads are expected to be in payload folder under installation folder, not in the installation folder itself. For a default installation, its at C:\Program Files\iLiberty\payload.
Never mind George. I don’t what happend the last time I tried.
Anyway, I manually download the payload files again and copied over to the default folder (ie, C:\Program Files\iLiberty\payload). I then restart iLiberty again and check those files are still there.
Just to clarify, if I wanted to apply the payloads to my iPhone device, I need to check the name in the Local Payloads tab and confirm the payloads are visible in the Selected Payloads tab and click “Go for it” button. Right?
umm every time i install cydia it will brink my itouch and i have to recover it and it wont install so help

Hi georges, like you told me, i have downloaded again iliberty, and re-installed it. But it’s always the same pb, during Pass2 unpacking main payload, i have Anysim_Unlock_BL39.zip bad CRC error and the iphone reboot.
Iphone 1.1.4 04.04.05_G with 3.9BL.
I don’t understand, i have winXP SP2, winrar, itunes updated, USB ports are ok, i desactivate antivirus when i run iliberty, and always the same thing.
Have you encoutered this pb ?

i was wondering if you could help me. i unlocked my iphone using iliberty+ and ticked all the boxes etc including youtube fix and everything works except youtube it says “you must first be connected to itunes with an internet connection to enable youtube” i have tried connecting it to my computer but still nothing…
another quick question is how do i copy my contacts from my sim to the iphone? i have that cydia thing but cannot find an application which does it…

One of my friends who was facing the same prob with summerboard went back to older version of iLiberty+ and then summerboard works fine..
With 3.0 summerboard get installed but none of the themes show up(even if u apply the fix or pacthes)
Can you help me out what im doing wrong or why it isnt working with iLiberty3.0.??

@Hugo & jessica, sorry I have no idea for iPod Touch as I didn’t have a touch and the test on touch was tested by others.
@rajkumar singhai, if you’re using older version of iLiberty+, upgrade to the latest one and apply the Fix Mobile Folder Permission fix, otherwise, check your mail account settings.
@Pierre, I have no idea why your zip files are broken (you’re the only one reported this issue), can you successfully decompress the zip files on your computer?
@Kia, I totally don’t understand what you’re trying to say.
@Krish and Lucho, I never had YouTube problem, although I noticed some (very few) people had such problem but I don’t know why I can’t re-produce the issue on my phone, hence I can’t have any helpful suggestions on how to fix it. SIM contacts ? That can be found on various forums, Google it.
@Spyros, this is the place to report bugs about iLiberty+, not a general iphone forum, so please post your general questions to your favorite forum.
@Mark, can you be more specific about the problem on SummerBoard? What iLiberty+ and SummerBoard versions are you using? Which version failed and which version succeeded? What have you installed on phone (e.g. Cydia or Installer) ? What about your firmware version?

I have a latest iPhone which came with 1.1.4 and I used the latest iLibert+ to crack/jailbreak/unlock. I installed Summerboard 3.2(guess thats the latest).
I have both Installer and Cydia in my phone..
I installed Suymmerboard and few other themes, but when I go to summerboard I cant see any themes.
My friend too has the same phone like mine(with 1.1.4). he went back to an older version not sure which one and it worked after that..
Can you help me out.??

my iphone has this problem, it does not recognise any sim card and it does not has wi fi, bluetooth, and it doesnt find any gsm network. It also does not ringing. I tried to restore them but it was impossible i tunes gave this message “can not restore error 1011″.
I am tryin with ilibrary but i can’t. it shows that, it restores but, its screen frozzen ant it is write this ” iliberty+ - pass 2 starting Unpaking main payload … ”
ant the phone does nothing, it remains with that screen message for hours

I installed the application and everything was going perfectly. But then it tried connecting to itunes and it is locked with a passcode and I have to unlock it first. But the screen is locked with a itunes symbol. Is there anything I can do?

i had 1.1.3 than i upgrade to 1.1.4 than i run the ziphone 3.0 it unlocked it and jailbreak but it won’t connect to wifi

I downloaded Cydia to my iphone and was able to install one program, the pianist, but then I could not install any other programs like rainbow light or converter or voice notes, etc. when I press the install button on the top right of screen the screen it just goes back to the desktop icons in a second or two with no installation progress bar or icon showing up. Am I doing something wrong or should I reinstall Cydia?
Hi Georges, when i decompress payloads on my computer, i haven’t any problem. Zip files are ok. I have tested with or without sim card, it’s the same. I really don’t understand nothing.
