Q: Is iLiberty+ free ?
A: Yes, absolutely. UPDATE: Some people reported they bought iLiberty+ from some sites, I can only say you were cheated, I didn’t sell it, I have nothing to do with any of the sites that are selling iLiberty+, and I don’t offer any technical support for any of them. So don’t post your purchase related questions here.
Q: Are you selling iLiberty+ ?
Q: Is iLiberty+ able to jailbreak/activate/unlock firmware 2.0 ?
A: No. iLiberty+ can only jailbreak/activate firmwares from 1.0.2 to 1.1.4, unlock basebands from 03.14.08_G to 04.04.05_G.
Q: Who has developed iLiberty+ ?
A: For Windows version, I and aviegas are the developers. For Mac OS X version, francis and pepijn are the developers.
Q: Where can I download iLiberty+ ?
A: Check This Link.
Q: What are the differences between iLiberty+ and other silimar tools ?
A: Refer to This Article.
Q: Do I have to check all options in a run ? What if I missed one ?
A: No. iLiberty+ is designed with flexibility in mind, the payload is designed carefully to be independant, although some special payload (e.g. BL upgrade payload) may have different behaviors when a specific payload is also checked. So if you forgot to check a payload, just check it and give it another go. You don’t need to check those already done payloads, just check the missing ones.
Q: How do I install Installer instead of Cydia ?
A: The iLiberty+ defaults to install Cydia, but it’s easy to install Installer instead. Just take these steps:
1. Don’t check Cydia
2. Go to Advanced / Local tab and make sure Installer is listed there, if not, go to Advanced / Repo tab, click Refresh once, then check and download Installer payload, this will download the payload from repo to your computer.
3. Check the Installer payload in Advanced / Local tab, then go to Advanced / Selected tab, you should see Installer listed there
4. Click Go for it to install.
NOTICE: the above operations may be combined with other payloads, e.g., you may check Activate, Unlock, and Installer payloads at the same time to do the whole thing in one turn.
Q: May I run iLiberty+ for multiple times ?
A: Yes. iLiberty+ is safe to be run for multiple times. In fact, it is specifically designed to support this. There’s one simple rule to obey though, don’t check the payloads that have already been done in the past runs. That is to say, if you wish, you may check one option, go for it, and then check another option, and repeat the same procedure, till all your payloads have been run.
Q: If iLiberty+ is safe to be run for multiple times, why shouldn’t I check the same options for more than once ?
A: Well, although iLiberty+ itself has no problem running for multiple times, some payloads might have side effects. For example, suppose you want to unlock a phone with GeoIPSF method (there’s no such a payload at the time this article is written), you need to backup original seczone, this is not a problem for the first run, but if you run the payload for a second time, you can’t retrieve the original seczone because NCK token has been zero’d out in the last unlock. So, to avoid side effects, please don’t check to run the same payloads for more than once (most of the official payloads have no side effects in multiple runs though).
Q: How do I write my own payload ?
A: Please refer to This Article
Q: How do I host my own payload repo ?
A: Please refer to This Article to create a plist file for your payloads.
Q: Can I install my own payload without a repo ?
A: Yes. Just put your payload files (.sh + .zip) into payload folder under iLiberty+ installation folder.

Hi, what is the difference between Cydia and the ’setup installer’ used in the previous version of iLiberty?
Thanks,
T
First of all thanks for the great tool, iLiberty. Worked easily for me first time! A question for you. Will all the fuss attached to the pwnage project, a lot of interest is in the ability to handle 1.2 firmware. Do you have plans to support this when it’s out of beta and in the wild?
Thanks
Dial
This is not a comment I paid twenty something dollars for this program and it did not do anything for my iphone i found another program for free !!!!! and it worked better than this one i want my money back!!!
@Peter, go complaining to whom you bought from, iLiberty+ is free, nobody asked you to pay for it, so if you bought it, its your own fault.
Installed iliberty+ 1.3.0.113 checked all options and worked fine but I still need the installer.app but there’s no option available except to use Cydia. So Cydia was installed, and installed installer.app via SHH, changed to appropriate owner(mobile) and mode(0755), it did came up but none of the loaded program will execute. I thought it could be missing the Fake BSD Subsystem, but there’s also no such source available. So I’m still stuck.
So I restart all over without the Cydia, thinking that installer.app might be install instead, but no. So what is the process to do it right?
Cydia maybe is more stable and reliable but it doesn’t have the program or source I need. Is it possible to put in option to either use Cydia, Installer, or both?
@pat, to install Installer, don’t check Cydia, go to “Advanced” tab, and check Installer there, go to “Selected” tab to make sure all your needed payloads have been selected, then ‘Go for it’.
Hey how long does usually take while unpacking the main payload? After severale attempts and hours of waiting for it to unpack it still hasn’t. Any suggestion? I have restored it with FirmWare 1.1.4 restore but nothing.
Thanks Pete
I am having the similar problem as Pete. Brand new iPhone and used iLiberty 1.3.0 for the first time. Connected iPhone to WinXP laptop and ticked all options. It started running and seems to stuck on
BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0
Any ideas? Please help.
Heya, great tool george. worked the first time. Am i able to install cydia and the installer.app? cause right now i have the installer.app and the regular bsd subsystem and apps like my mobilechat are crashing randomly and once i checked the weather and the screen went black for a few sec’s and wouldnt respond to the home or sleep/wake button. So is Cydia a better option here?
HI, GEORGE
I just come to know about iLiberty today from a forum. I have an iPhone 1.1.4 OTB & I have used ziphone 3.0 to do all the stuff and now after reading all these, I wanna switch to iLiberty. So please explain me how to do it. Am not really good with da terms like payload etc.. so really need to be educated. I know u r a busy person, but still please find some time to help me out.I have spent my savings to get an iPhone so I really wanna it last with da best software. So please……I would appreciate. Thanks in advance.
Great work on iLiberty+. I choose everything but Cydia. Worked fine. Went back and follow instructions in @pat but a little confused. Under Advanced, Selected is 0, Available On Repo is 0. When I do a refresh I get “error on: http://iliberty.zjlotto.com/repo.plist (151: not found)” I’m connected to the internet. I going to assume that the “installer” is under available and I have to download then it will go to the selected tab? Thanks in advance
Thank you very much George! :)
Hi George
Can you pls let me know if with your present iLiberty+ version is it possible to jailbreak and unlock the beta 2.0 firmware ?
Thanking you for your great tools! I like to try the beta 2.0 but not sure whether it can jailbreak and unlock or not.
Sorry to learn that in your country many people are died due to recent heavy earth quick.
Bye,

Hi George,
This seems to be the best tool for the iphone. I just got an iphone and have a few questions before i “go for it”!
1. Same as with Pat and Tony, i downloaded 1.3.0.113, and i cannot find an installer payload in the advanced > local tab. it only has cydia. should i download the installer.zip file first and place it in the payload folders for it to appear in the gui?
2. is an upgraded baseband firmware (e.g. 4.04.05) always better than older firmware (e.g 4.01.13). you give us a choice to downgrade bootloaders or not, which is great, but i dont really understand why i would want to stick to 4.01.13 with 4.6bl. i will still stick to your suggestion though to downgrade bl 3.9fb. i just want to understand the process better..
3. is there a way to check bootloader version of the phone without connecting to itunes?
4. lastly, should i go to recovery mode using iLiberty+ ( from “other tools”) or do i go to itunes firmware restore method to start the unlocking procedure?
I know that this is a lot to ask from you but hope you can enlighten me and the rest of your followers who use this excellent tool. more power !!
Hi george,
i dont mean to post unecessary comments here but i just figured out the answer to my first question. i just thought that maybe it will be useful to other newbies like me.
i had to go to advanced > available on repo tab(initially has 0 payloads) then do a “refresh”. payloads will update then “download” to local tab. this might help @pat and @tony.
for my third question, i guess the “bbinfo” payload will do the job. but what if the phone is still unactivated, can i get bootloader version without first jailbreaking the phone? or if the phone has been activated but not jailbreaked, is there a simple way of getting the bootloader version similar to a *3001#12345# (this only gives bb firmware and os firmware). i know this sounds really trivial to you but it would be a great shortcut tool to have. thanks.
Hi george,
Can you update Cydia package in 1.3, looks like Cydia released a new version. And if you add Chinese Language Pack in payload, there will be great.
I ran the updated version of iliberty with cydia but I want installer. What is the best way to remove cydia and put installer instead? Should I restore in Itunes and rerun iliberty? which settings should I check if I do this? (I figured out the advanced tab already)
I am in the same situation as earlier posted Firoz. I also would like to see a FAQ that covers the issue of switching from ZiPhone to iLiberty+. Also, is iLiberty+ compatible with iPhone 1.1.4 ?
Cheers
Hi George, thanks for your effort on this. Yesterday I got a phone and unlocked using iLiberty+ and checked all boxes in the standard window. Everything working fine including wifi. But Youtube is not working. I have seen some comments “not to check Youtube fix” check box. Now I want to revert back using iTune restore process and re-run iLiberty+. Do I have to downgrade BL? I was already downgraded to 3.9FB in the first run right? Please help me what to check in the re-run after restore? I really appreciate your help. Thanks
WORKED BEAUTIFULLY! I was SICK of all the problems associated with ZiPhone and WinPwn seemed to difficult so I checked out this and it’s GREAT!
CHEERS,
iPoT H4CK3R
hey george… iLiberty rocks!!! thanks
Does this work on iPod Touch 32Gb?
I have unlocked the iPhone and it seems to work with different US carriers. But, when i use a sim card that is based on UK provider ‘Three’ in USA. It is not recognizing the sim card. But, use i use the same in unlocked nokia it works.
Any help would be appreciated.
Please help me, i don’t know what happened but my iphone stopped syncing, whenever i plug it to any computer, a baloon appears that says ‘USB device not recognized’… same thing when i put it on DFU mode… I searched the net and there are dozens of people in my boat, no one figured out a solution…
I have a 1.1.4 ziphoned, the wi-fi is working correctly and i can still access the iphone from WinSCP… is there anyway i can virginize the iphone and install iliberty via wifi please?
ok i might just be a moron, but when i click go for it and am then prompted to disconnect the device, reconnect it and click ok, nothing happens. my iPod Touch (1.1.4) does not go into recovery mode. i am then prompted to try again. it never happens for me. any help on how to time this just right? should i be closing my itunes for this? etc.
thanks, yt
ok i am a moron - 5th time’s a charm. worked great! thanks George
PS - wait a second or two before clicking ok. also make sure that auto-sync is turned off in itunes.
My ipod is in recovery mode and i cant download the 1.1.1 firmware so does iliberty+ work for me. if not what does.
Hi George, first off thank you for a great programme, it does everything needed with ease and simplicity. I would be writing unless I had a problem, and my problem is the dreaded ‘repair needed’. What’s the problem here and can it be resolved. I am hoping it’s going to be easy. If you can help, I would sincerely appreciate it.
Without wishing to be self congratulatory, it was with great empathy and sympathy that, through our church, we made our donation to Christian Aid, specifically for the flood and earthquake in China. Not everyone spends their time navel gazing and fixated on their own problems.
Again thanks
Hi George ..
is iLiberty+ compatible to firmware 2.0?
Hey is iLiberty+ going to work for the iPhone 3G. I wanna know before i buy it

I am having a problem with Liberty+. Once it starts running on my iphone, it gets to the Downgrade Bootloader part and freezes? Is this a common error? How do I fix this? Thanks
i have a quick question:

Hi George,
can I unlock a G3 mobile with FW 2.0 already? If not - any expectations? If I am downgrading to 1.1.4 am I loosing G3 service functionalities? (May be a silly question, but I am completely new to this stuff)
Greetz from Sydney & keep up the good work!
AARRGGGHHH!!!!
Why oh why are there so many “package download failed” and “Error $codes$” crap???
This is excruciating. I went from ZiPhone to iliberty thinking it would be easier, but nothing wants to download. What is up????
Hi,
I have a lot of problems with my iPhone. I have tried to use this but I can not make it work. Please contact me on my email so I can tell you more:
B3llis_@hotmail.com
I am so thankful for this program but I need it to work to.
Great method of unlocking! It’s as easy to use as ziPhone, but a lot safer! I do, however have one question. I can put in at&t SIM card, but I will have no service. It obviously detects the card because I don’t receive an error message saying it can’t. When I put the card in another phone, It works fine. I checked the box to activate it when I unlocked. I have also restored with 1.1.4 and re-unlocked many times with many different programs, but had no success. Any ideas of what may be causing this? Thanks in advance.
Great tool, does it work on 3g iPhones as an unlock? At the moment it sends my phone into recovery mode and then it disconnects from the phone.
Thanks!
how does it work how do you use it
i downloaded it already but dont know how 2 use it
how can i contact for support

It went for go for it button but had an error so i started again and now the button is greyed out. what can i do?
I accidentally update my iPhone to latest firmware and now running V2.0. I have tried to downgrade to 1.1.4 but iTunes does not allow it to restore to 1.1.4. So, I’m stuck with V2.0. I have tried iLiberty 5 times now trying my luck to get it to unlock but it seems not to be working. iLiberty failed to put the phone into restore mode and unable to recognize the phone is already connected to the PC.
In fact, iTunes is able to discover the phone much faster that iLiberty.
Any pointers to guide me to unlock my v2.0 8GB iPhone is much appreciated.
Thanks!!!
I too am having that exact same problem. I accidently upgraded to v2.0. I’ve tried to restore using my previous, v1.1.4 through itunes but it comes up with an unknown error (20).
Anyone know of a way to downgrade to avoid such an error?
My brother upgraded yo 2.0 firmware. I downgraded him back to the 1.1.4 software and ran everything and it worked fine except for the bootloader kept giving an error message and saying it would abort in 10 seconds. I’m assuming that’s why the network continues to be unavailable (Everything else seems to work fine). Any suggestions or help. Thanks in advance.
When are you expecting to be able to work with 2.0 ?
Thank you
my iphone is a 1.1.4 firmware…

George,
I was one of the people that was fooled to pay for the program. I am not here to ask for money back, I am just having problems unlocking my 3G. I tried once in the beginning after installing the program and it didn’t work. Now my iphone is stuck on “recovery mode” but even if I click on any options (check the boxes), it does not give me the option “go for it!”.
I tried uninstalling and re-installing it but it still won’t give me the “go for it!” option. Please help out if you can.
Thanks in advance for your help.
The iphone that i am trying to unlock is my dads old one. i have already downloaded iLiberty+, but when i try to use it it says that there is an error because it needs to paired with itunes. So when i plugged my phone into itunes it said i couldn’t pair it because the phone was locked with a pass code. So i looked at my iphone but there is no place to enter a pass code, what should i do?
i
